Your information,
clearly explained.
Who is responsible
Smith Innovation Studio is a trading name of Smith & Johnson Limited, the controller of personal information used for this website, enquiries and our business outreach. Registered in England and Wales, company number 12407892. Registered office: 7 Bell Yard, London WC2A 2JR. Contact tj.smith@smithinnovation.studio about your information.
When you get in touch
We collect your name, work email, firm name, team size and the message you choose to send. We use these details to respond, understand your enquiry and discuss a possible project. Please do not include confidential client information.
For business enquiries, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to requests and developing relevant business relationships. Where you enquire about a contract with us personally, processing may also be necessary to take steps at your request before entering that contract. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to a mailing list.
Practice self-assessment
Your assessment answers stay in the page while you use it. They are not automatically sent to us or saved between visits. You can view results and download worksheets without providing contact details. If you choose to send your result and request a conversation, your contact details and area summaries are delivered through the enquiry service described below. This does not subscribe you to a mailing list. Downloaded worksheets run locally; save or print your completed copy if you want to keep it.
When we contact a business
We may contact relevant people at accountancy companies using publicly available business information from firm websites, professional profiles and business registers. This can include your name, role, work contact details, firm and the public source. We use it to assess whether our AI and automation services may be relevant and send a limited number of personalised business emails.
We rely on our legitimate interests in developing relevant business relationships, balancing this against your expectations and privacy. Our initial email outreach is to corporate businesses, not sole traders or ordinary partnerships. We do not use email tracking pixels or make automated decisions about you.
You can object to direct marketing at any time by replying to our email or contacting TJ. We will stop marketing to you and retain only the minimum contact information needed to respect your preference. We review inactive prospect records after six months and remove information no longer needed. Our email provider processes business correspondence; we do not sell prospect information.
How the form works
Vercel hosts the website. Supabase processes the enquiry through a protected email relay, and Resend delivers it to TJ’s business inbox. The form does not create a separate enquiry database record or book an appointment. These providers and our email provider process information as needed to operate their services. We do not sell enquiry information.
Technical logs can include request information and email-delivery identifiers. The enquiry service avoids writing your message or email address into its application logs. Hosting providers may process IP addresses and request details for security and reliability.
Storage and retention
Enquiries and replies remain in business email for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry, any resulting work and applicable record-keeping obligations. Provider delivery records and technical logs are retained according to the relevant service settings. Contact us if you would like us to review or delete an enquiry.
Our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where required, applicable transfer safeguards, such as approved contractual clauses or recognised adequacy arrangements, apply. Contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not load advertising or Google Analytics tracking. Essential technical processing may occur to deliver and protect the service. Opening an email link uses your own email application.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact TJ using the email above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Other services
This notice covers the Studio website enquiry form and business outreach. Existing applications and other services have their own privacy information, including our application privacy page and Stones privacy notice.
